The model I acquired from a mentor of mine. It was done in maya with mental ray. My own texture nodes were applied and rendered in 2k size format. It was a lot of fun and I'm giving a shout out to Detroit.

The Miami Condo

Making this was 5% motivation and 105% perspiration. It was a project I did part for fun and part learning. The original photo refrence I used to project the image into maya. Then I created the 3D geometry to that perspective camera after locking it. I had to change the camera to a different focus to get it right, but then I worked on the clay shingles. I then wanted to throw the modifed photoshop texture on it and with every project theres always problems, the 3D and image were slightly off. So I decided since i was going to do all the trees in 2D I would just finish it in photoshop. So there was a lot of retouching. The truck is 3D rendered in mental ray. If you look close the driver is on his cell phone. trees are all Xfrog, and there is a man hole but it got coved up bythe boarder. Any Comments are welcome.

The Storm version only took about 2 hours, as I had messed around with another file, so I knew what needed to be done to get the lightning and rain on top of the rest. Note: look at the original sunny version.

Opening Day in Detroit

Here is one of my favorite architectual renderings.
I had the idea and I acomplished it by going to the stadium and watching the games and using photos that my dad took of the stadium when he worked as an electician when the ball park was built, (Happy Father's Day Dad). I also used a wallet size schedule seating chart to make it as close as possible to the actual dimentions. I used AutoCAD to model this and the old VIZ Render to render it. I also have more camera angles and a cool 180 degree animation. If your wondering what I used to texture it, I used PaintShop Pro because I did not have Photoshop or Maya yet. Ohh and it took about 4 to 5 weeks. Refrence photos are availible by request.

Months went on and I put the picture on the back of my door. My brother said that would be a cool car to draw, and then after I took an Illustrator class this was my final project. The bkgd lightning was done in Photoshop. It was done before the car idea came to me. I also got a big poster of it made and put on my wall with some of my other renderings like the Detroit Tiger stadium, shown in my portfolio.
